Akreos® AO Aspheric IOL
Bausch & Lomb Akreos® AO lens is the world’s first aberration-free aspheric acrylic IOL. Unlike other IOLs it does not add further aberrations to the patient’s eye. This leaves a slight, naturally occurring positive aberration from the cornea, providing better depth of field.
It provides all your cataract patients with exceptional postoperative vision quality and contrast sensitivity.

Akreos® AO: Better Vision for More People
- The Akreos AO Lens is designed to be free of spherical aberration.
- Optical performance is unaffected by optical or anatomical decentrations or by pupil size due to uniform centre-to-edge power.1
- More predictable and repeatable refractive outcomes with a broader patient population can be expected.
Akreos® AO Aberration-Free Design Helps to Enhance Depth of Field
- The Akreos AO Lens maintains the natural positive spherical aberrations compared to aspheric aberrated IOLs
- With its aberration-free design, Akreos AO helps to significantly improve depth of field in comparison to an aspheric aberrated IOL
Optimised Effectiveness Against PCO
- The Akreos AO Lens benefits from the unique Square-Edge Technology and a 360° posterior barrier. Both features minimising cell migration following implantation.
Fully Single Use Injection System
- The Akreos AO can be injected through the AI-28 injector system, enabling implantation of the Akreos AO lens through a Sub-3.0mm phaco incision.
