Eye Concerns

Imperfect Vision

If the images you see are blurred, one or more of the following four conditions could be responsible.

Shortsightedness

For a shortsighted person, close objects are clear, but distant objects are blurred and difficult to distinguish.

Longsightedness

Technically known as hyperopia, people who are longsighted have blurred vision at all distances unless they make a constant effort to focus.

Astigmatism

For people with astigmatism, all objects both near and far are distorted.

Presbyopia

Presbyopia is a natural occurrence in which the eye can no longer tightly focus up close. It commonly develops in people around age 40.
