Vision & Age

Your Changing Eyes

You rely on your sight to enjoy life to the fullest. Yet, over time, your vision may change. You may need more light to see. You may have a harder time differentiating among shades of blue and green. And you may have trouble focusing on things that are near. Fortunately, there are lots of products to help your continued good sight.

How can you help

Be sure to visit the eye doctor regularly and learn about potential vision problems. By being well-informed, you can learn to recognize signs of trouble and possibly cure or slow a sight-threatening disease.

Proper eye care

Regular eye examinations are recommended every 2 years (unless advised more frequently by your eye care practitioner).

Eye examinations are either directly billed to Medicare or are partially reimbursed through Medicare.

If you have ancillary or extras coverage with your medical insurer, you may be covered towards the cost of spectacles or contact lenses.

What's going on?

Here are some common eye problems you should be aware of

Fight free radicals

Free radicals are unstable moleculesunchecked, they can damage cells in the eye, which may lead to serious vision problems.

Studies have shown that antioxidant vitamins & minerals may help combat free radicals, and slow or prevent related diseases. Consider using Bausch & Lomb's Ocuvite® vitamins. And be sure to ask your doctor if taking a vitamin supplement is right for you.
